Spirit of the Union


DUBAI, November 28, 2015: As a tribute to the “Spirit of the Union”, Aster DM Healthcare, one of the healthcare groups in the Middle East, opens today seven Aster Medical Centres leading to UAE National Day on December 2nd. The opening ceremony was led by Dr. Azad Moopen, Chairman and Managing Director of Aster DM Healthcare, parent company of Aster Medical Centres and Her Excellency Maryam Mohammed Khalfan Al Roumi, Minister of Social Affairs for the UAE.

The seven clinics are dedicated to the unity of the nation and cater across multiple nationalities that make up the UAE. Its multi-disciplinary healthcare teams are on hand to help treat patients well. The new clinics are located in Khalidiya - Abu Dhabi, Dubai Marina, Al Barsha,Arabian Ranches, Al Khail, Abu Hail and Al Qusais in Dubai.

“From a single doctor practice, Aster has grown to over 290 establishments in the Middle East and India. Here where we were conceived and born, we are very grateful for the opportunity bestowed upon us by the leaders and rulers of the UAE. We are pleased to have grown with them and we take it as our mission to provide the people with unparalleled healthcare services accessible to everyone. As we grow, we are proud to be part of the Spirit of the Union and help contribute to the future of the UAE.” said Dr. Azad Moopen.

In honour of the “Spirit of the Union” and to give back to the community, Aster will dedicate 1,000 hours of free consultation services to the residents of the UAE from select clinics for one year. Aster Hospital in Mankhool, Bur Dubai will provide a free surgery every week of up to AED 50,000 worth per operation toan Emirati who has been duly referred by the Ministry of Health or Dubai Health Authority. Not to forget residents living in far flung areas of the UAE, Aster is providing free mobile clinic services for over 30 days to serve the needy.

HE Maryam Mohammed Khalfan Al Roumi encouraged Aster to continue with its care for the community through its hospital, medical centres, diagnostic centres and pharmacies for the UAE community. She also commended the dedication of each and every one at Aster in treating people well, not just in medical terms but as a responsible community member and resident of the UAE especially with its programme for the occasion of the National Day providing free medical consultations as well as surgery for the deserving. She further thanked everyone at Aster and wished them success in providing health care services to those in need.

Coinciding with the seven launches, Aster will also spearhead activities for the community to participate inincluding a blood donation campaign to support government hospitals, national dress competitions for children, UAE cultural activities in the clinics and competitions for best healthy food recipe. There will also be a special message wall where patients, staff and visitors to the clinic can express their love and loyalty to the UAE.
